Most residents of huge favelas in São Paulo are between 18 and 44 years previous, single, and have an revenue of as much as US$560


A survey performed by the Favela Diz Institute examined the profile of residents of the 2 largest municipalities within the metropolis of São Paulo, Heliópolis and Paraisópolis, within the South Zone of São Paulo, and located that the majority residents are between 18 and 44 years previous, single, earn as much as R$2.8 thousand (US$560) and don’t drink alcohol.

When requested about their revenue, 25% refused to reply.

About 36% of Paraisópolis residents reported incomes between R$900 and R$1,800. In Heliópolis, 39.5% reported incomes between R$1,200 . . .
