Chile and Costa Rica elected to UN human rights council


Chile and Costa Rica have been elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council in a vote that prevented Venezuela’s re-election, the international ministries of each nations introduced.

“With 144 votes, Chile has been elected with the primary regional majority to the United Nations Human Rights Council for the interval 2023-2025,” the official Chilean International Ministry tweeted.

For its half, the Costa Rican International Ministry careworn “the help of all member states for its candidacy.”

It recalled that Costa Rica has a seat within the Council for the second time in its historical past since its creation in 2006 . . .
